First time in history, India has deployed 12 Nuclear Warheads during peacetime by significantly shifting his Nuclear strategies.

According to latest Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) yearbook 2026 published on Monday reported that now India possesses a total of 190 Nuclear Warheads in his arsenal, year back it was 180 .

Out of 190 Nuclear arsenals, 1st time in the history India has deployed 12 nuclear warheads operationally ready, rather than entirely stockpiled.

However, India maintain “NO FIRST USE NUCLEAR WARHEADS” doctrine , which means Nuclear Weapons are primarily for retaliation following a nuclear strike.
